Cutest Session EVER!

So the amazing H's as I would like to call them are my friends. I am blessed to have them in my life and I know God put them there to teach me, hold me accountable, make me laugh hysterically and be a model of servanthood to me. Jesus truly shines through this couple!

As a token, a very small token compared to all they have done for me, I offered to take photos of their cute family! And in true "H" fashion, I was blessed way more than they were!

Here are a few samples of their precious pups! All three of them have different personalities.

Check them out:

Meet Scrappy. He is the wise old man that you go to for advise on the mountain top. He listens well and knows people. Trust his judgment! I have a personal connection with Scrappy because I went over to the Super H's house for a venting session one day a while back and just as I was about to cry, Scrappy crawled up on the couch where I was sitting and laid his head down in my lap and looked up at me with those story telling eyes. "He is a good sad dog" the H's told me. Scrappy sure is a good dog when you are sad, because I left that day feeling unconditional love!

This is Zoe Girl. She is more the quiet servant. She and her mom are the only girls in the house and all 3 of the boys know how blessed they are to have these two ladies! Zoe is a honey and you should see her cuddle. She loves her some blankets! She really surprised us all during the photo session by being quite the DIVA. Zoe had us all laughing hysterically. I am not lying when I tell you that she started modeling when I pulled out the camera. This, my friends, is her calling. She was perfect during the session and even threw in some of her own poses. Such fun!!!

Meet Jake. He carries a bone around that is the exact same size as him, no problem! He is always on the move. He has more energy than a room of kindergartners. And I would like to say something about Jake. We should all be as happy as Jake. If more people in the world were as happy as this one pup, there would be less crime, less drama, less war, more love, more serving and more of what God meant for this world to have.

These 3 dogs are what is right about this world. They model behaviors that people should strive to have in their life. Unconditional and unashamed love, tender hearts, others come first, fun, humor, happiness and the list goes on! The H family has said many times to me that owning a pet can teach you a lot. I am not a dog owner personally, but I do have to agree with them 100% after spending the afternoon with these 3 little lovers!

There was a bonus blessing at their house too, because the H family had their niece, Fancy over for the day. I was able to capture precious moments with her as well, so check back with this blog later as anyone named Fancy deserves her own post!

Continue to scroll down for more moments captured at the H house. Again, thank you friends for allowing me in to capture these photos and to experience this joy!

Bluebonnets and Lollipops!

What a joy it was to take photos of this amazing family. All 3 children jumped out of the car screaming "Miss Jodie!" as if I was their long lost best friend and they all gave me a hug...what a great start! Joy, Joy, Joy....that's how I will describe this family photo shoot! What a blessing they all were to me!

I love this photo because look in the background at brother watching on...so sweet!

Proud to be a Texan!

Stunning! That's all I can say about the state flower of Texas!
Because Texas had such a wet winter, the wildflowers are going to be incredible this spring! As a photographer, this news makes me very excited because you cannot recreate nature in a studio and there is nothing better to use as a backdrop!

And even more stunning is this beauty in the bluebonnets!

Animoto.com

I was introduced to this new photography website and created a quick video. I love this new tool and hope to be using it quite a bit. Thank you Shayla and Lana for telling me about this great website.

It's a Girl!!!

This was my first maternity shoot. It was filled with laughs for most of the day. That was mainly due to the fact the husband kept us all in stitches. What a good sport he was to endure this gaggle of woman, all talking about baby girlie things...It's possible he loved the fact that it was his daughter we were gushing over.

This one was a must, read the sign on the candy shop window in the background!

The new mom was a ballerina most her life and her heart is and will always be on pointe. That's why this shot was special to me, maybe not my favorite visually but defiantly my favorite emotionally.

The new grandma got to be part of this special day and I can only imagine how she must feel seeing her baby having a baby!

These are some of my favorite color photographs from the day...

These are some of my favorite black and white photographs from the day...

and I had to save the best for last...

...for those of you who know "Mamma" personally, this image captures her personality in a way none of the others did...Baby Girl, you have one fun life ahead of you!

My 1st Wedding Shoot!

Amy and Ken got married Saturday.

They allowed my friend Tricia, from "Eyes Like Twins Photography" and myself to invade their special day and capture some memories. We called this practice at first, not knowing that what this day would end up being was one of our most touching memories.

Tricia started the day out taking photographs at the home of the bride's mother. I met up with her later that day on the way to the wedding. I grabbed her camera with excitement to see what lay in her pixels.

As I pushed the arrow to the right to see all the images, I started to cry. I saw the amazing photos the talented Tricia captured and I was especially touched of the ones of the mom and her daughter on this most special day.

This is when I realized, this simple job of photography was truly important. It is a service. It will give lasting visual stories to the people that allow me to enter their life even for just a moment.

This is Amy, the bride. She was as sweet as she is beautiful. Such a kind spirit and you should have seen the way she looked at her groom.

This is Ken, the groom. Ditto on the way he looked at his bride. They have been together 5 years and they loved each other deeply. I knew this and I had only just met them.

Look at this flower girl...such a honey! Those dimples are to die for...

I personally loved this one, because as anyone who has been a bride knows, the flower girl is never far from your side. It is such a special day for her that she will talk about it on the day she gets married to her prince.

Bridesmaids....

Groomsmen....

This photo captures the welcome feeling of the reception. Look at these amazing doors! Beautiful...

I was walking around the reception and I caught the mom and dad of the groom practicing their dance and thought this was a precious moment!

Details....

This is my favorite photo of the day. Congratulations Ken and Amy. I pray you have a wonderful life together. Thank you again for allowing us to be part of your celebration.
